SMSA Express is one of the couriers many Gulf online stores already use, especially stores that sell into Saudi Arabia. Without an integration, every order means typing the address into the SMSA dashboard, saving the label, and copying the tracking number back to the customer. It works, but it does not scale, and the customer is often left asking where their parcel is.
Wink You connects your SMSA ecommerce account with one API key. Waybills, labels and tracking then come from the order screen. This guide is honest about two things SMSA does not offer through its API: live shipping prices and cancellation.
What the SMSA connection does
- Creates an SMSA waybill from the order, with the address, service, weight, parcels and cash to collect filled in.
- Saves the label SMSA returns, so Print label opens it from the same order.
- Tracks the parcel, lists every courier scan and moves the order to Shipped and Delivered by itself, telling the customer.
- Offers instant tracking through an SMSA webhook once SMSA approves it, and checks every 30 minutes until then.
- Can create waybills automatically for orders that are ready to ship.
How to connect your SMSA Express account
- In Business Admin, open Shipping carriers and press Connect on the SMSA Express card.
- Under Account details, paste your API key. You find it in the SMSA ecommerce dashboard, under Documentation, API Docs.
- Fill the Pickup address: at least the phone, street, city and country.
- Under Options, choose the services, the Default product weight (grams), Test mode (no real parcels are booked) while you try it, Default carrier for new waybills, and whether to create waybills automatically.
- Press Save, then Test connection. A wrong key is refused right away.
- Optional, for instant tracking: copy the Webhook URL, Header name and Header value shown under Instant tracking into the SMSA dashboard, under Documentation, SMSA Webhook.
No live rates: what that means for your checkout
The SMSA ecommerce API has no rate service, so Wink You cannot ask SMSA for the price of a cart. A delivery method linked to SMSA always charges its own flat Fee, and the shipping screen marks it Flat fee only. In practice, set your fee per zone in Shipping so it covers your typical SMSA cost, and use Free over (optional) to ship bigger orders free. If you also have Aramex, that is the carrier that can price each cart live.
No cancel API: what happens when you cancel
SMSA also has no cancel endpoint. When you press Cancel waybill under Courier shipment, Wink You removes the waybill and its tracking from the order so you can create a new one, but SMSA still has it. Void it in the SMSA dashboard as well. Only a waybill that has not been picked up can be cancelled from the order; once the parcel is with SMSA, contact SMSA directly.
What is not included
- Live SMSA prices at checkout. Methods linked to SMSA use their flat fee.
- Cancelling with SMSA from Wink You. Void the waybill in the SMSA dashboard too.
- Delivery to another country from the storefront. Checkout saves addresses in your store's own country.
Tracking SMSA parcels from the order
Open the order in Orders and scroll to Courier shipment. The status tells you where the parcel is, for example Picked up, In transit, Out for delivery, Delivered or Delivery issue, and below it every SMSA scan is listed, newest first. Refresh asks SMSA straight away and Track opens the SMSA tracking page. When SMSA marks the parcel picked up or delivered, the order moves forward by itself and the customer gets a message, so your team does not have to update each order by hand.
For cash on delivery, the Cash to collect field on the waybill is the amount still owed. When SMSA hands the money over, open the order and press Mark paid under Shop Fulfillment so the sale is counted.
Before you ship for real
Keep Test mode on while you try your first orders: Wink You then uses the SMSA sandbox and no real parcel is booked. When the test waybills look right, switch test mode off and save. You may be asked to confirm your password before saving, and only the business owner and managers who are not tied to one branch can manage carriers.

Why does SMSA always charge my flat fee?

After saving, copy the three values under Instant tracking into the SMSA Webhook page in the SMSA dashboard. SMSA approves it before it goes live; until then tracking is checked every 30 minutes.
Can I use SMSA and Aramex together?
Yes. Connect both, link each delivery method to the carrier you want, and choose one as the default carrier for new waybills.
