MyFatoorah is a payment gateway used by many businesses across the Gulf, with a strong base in Kuwait and wide use in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman. If your business already has a MyFatoorah account, switching to a new system should not mean opening a new gateway. You want your online store and your QR menu to charge cards through the account you already have.
Wink You connects to MyFatoorah directly. This guide covers what the connection does, how to set it up with your API token and webhook, and how refunds work.
What the MyFatoorah connection does
- Card payments at your online store checkout, on the MyFatoorah hosted payment page.
- Card payments on the QR Digital Menu for restaurants with QR self ordering on.
- Full and partial refunds from Payments, sent back through MyFatoorah.
- Currencies on the MyFatoorah card: KWD, SAR, BHD, AED, QAR, OMR, JOD and EGP.
The money goes straight into your own MyFatoorah account and reaches your bank on MyFatoorah's schedule. Wink You does not hold it. MyFatoorah runs separate live systems for some countries, and Wink You uses the one that matches your business country.
How to connect MyFatoorah
- In Business Admin, open Payment Methods and click Connect on MyFatoorah.
- Pick the Currency your branches sell in, and the Mode: Test while you try it, Live for real payments.
- Paste your API Token from the MyFatoorah portal. Leave Payment Method ID (optional) empty unless MyFatoorah told you to use one method only.
- Copy the webhook address shown in the panel into your MyFatoorah portal, under Webhook Settings, and enable it.
- Paste the webhook secret MyFatoorah gives you into Webhook signing secret.
- Switch it On and click Save. The status chip changes to Active.
Use test credentials with Test and live credentials with Live: a test card is declined in live mode and a real card cannot pay in test mode. You may be asked to confirm it is you before the keys are saved, and by default only the business owner can open Payment Methods. Without a working webhook, payments are still confirmed by a background check, but an order can take a few minutes to show as paid.
Refunds through MyFatoorah
Open Payments, find the payment, choose Refund and keep Original Method. Lower the Refund Amount for a partial refund and click Confirm Refund. The refund is sent to MyFatoorah as a request; it can take a few days to reach the customer's card. If the provider never answers about a refund, the payment shows a warning so you can check the MyFatoorah portal before doing anything else, instead of paying the customer twice.
What is not included
- A separate MyFatoorah account per branch from the app. One account per provider serves every branch.
- Currencies outside the MyFatoorah list. If your branch sells in another currency, MyFatoorah is not offered there.
Test before you go live
With Mode set to Test, Wink You sends payments to the MyFatoorah test system, so no real money moves. Use the test token MyFatoorah gives you, place a test order on your own store or QR menu, and check it shows as paid in Orders. Then switch the Mode to Live, paste your live API Token and save. Changing the mode deletes nothing.
When MyFatoorah shows to customers
MyFatoorah is offered at checkout only when it shows Active, with the token saved and switched On, and when it supports the branch currency. For restaurants, guests can pay on the QR menu only when QR self ordering is on, and the QR menu offers delivery only when an online payment is available for the branch currency, because cash on delivery is not accepted from the QR menu. Changes reach the menu within seconds.
Who can change it
By default only the business owner can open Payment Methods, through the Payment gateways and payout accounts permission, so branch managers do not see your MyFatoorah token. Before the token is saved you may be asked to confirm it is you with your password, passkey or two factor code. Payment Methods holds one MyFatoorah account for the whole business, used by every branch. If you need a separate merchant account for each branch, contact Wink You support.
